I got my N900 a week back and Skype was working fine. But since yesterday, I haven't been able to log into my skype account through the N900. I am able to log into my skype account on my iphone just fine. I tried a few different WiFi connections and the cellular data connection (ATT).

Is anyone else experiencing this problem. Please let me know if there is a solution.

A friend of mine had this problem. He logged into different account on the phone, than got back to his own and it worked again.

Have you installed anything or had any errors on login prior to this?

edit: hopbeat beat me to it... with something a lot more helpful.

Mine quit working the other day. I deleted Skype in the phone, rebooted, and then re-entered the login and password and it worked. I do not know what broke it.

like hopbeat said, I had to login with a different account and log back in with my original account to get it to work.

I had the very same problem. Worked for about 2 weeks since I got the device then didn't work today. But found out reason was I had logged on to my skype on my laptop and it was preventing skype working on the phone.

I seem to be having a Skype related issue too, although not exactly the same as the OP's.

I'm able to log into, and activate Skype, but upon clicking on a contact's 'Skype field' number in their corresponding contact card (essentially with the intention of wanting to call them via Skype-Out), I keep getting the yellow box message:

"Unable to perform operation. Internal Error".

But I can easily make a Skype call from the Phone application, albeit by manually typing out the number with the "+44" prefix.

Does anyone else have this issue? I should note that I have the Haze plugin and Pidgin app, both from the Extras-Testing/Dev repo's, so I suppose there could be a conflicting problem there. Especially as Haze works alongside the pre-installed Skype protocol on the Telepathy framework?

    Thanks!

This is supposed to work just fine. I've over the years been logged in permanently on my desktop, laptop, and, last couple of years, N800. Skype is supposed to handle this.
