*sigh* ... I don't own a 770, but I'll try to set up an environment and compile it for 770. Then, I'll set up a distribution for 770. I'll likely need your help testing it, since I couldn't run it anywhere.

- I think the X on the Buddy list should close the app. What is your reason to stop that? Maybe make it an option?
- When I resize the text entry area, the new size is not saved. Right now I always make the vertical height less so that it is the same size as the buddies avatar. this also allows more space for the message log
- when opening Preferences window, the "left" arrow on the tabs is enabled. It should not be I think. Also pressing the "right" arrow on the tabs bar just disables the left arrow and does not go to the next right tab. (I know, I'm getting picky now!)
- from the buddy window, I selected "New" from the status window. I can't see the buttons when the accounts list is expanded.

... another idea I "stole" from maemo-gaim. I don't want it to close the app because, sometimes when you close the conversation window, you accidentally tap the top-right corner twice, and, since I personally don't save my passwords, I hate having to type them in afterwards.
IIRC, Gaim doesn't save this even on the desktop. However, I was thinking about setting the splitter such that it gives only as much room to the lower half as absolutely necessary. So, the behaviour would be like this: Whenever the size of the window changes (that is, when it appears, when it goes from fullscreen to unfullscreen or vice versa, and maybe other occasions), set the splitter so the lower half has just enough room, and make sure the upper half is scrolled to the end.
How does that sound ?

OK, I don't understand this. The "New Status" window shows up as a separate window. It is unencumbered by the buddy list. Same goes for "Saved Statuses". Nonetheless, it could use scrollbars, because it becomes compressed when the on-screen keyboard shows up.
