    Possible bug receiving calls while streaming data?

    Could someone confirm this for me? I took a quick search, but couldn't find anything in the forum. I saw something saying edge would cut out if you placed a call, which I'm fine with. I'm not sure if you would consider this a bug, but I don't know what the best course of action would be.

    I'm on AT&T edge, and I'm currently downloading openarea (200+meg) because of wapa wifi issues with my router, and I don't receive calls while it's downloading. I know edge only supports data or voice, so should phone take priority over the app manager, or should you at least be given a choice? I'm curious if this also happens while streaming audio, or anything with a constant data stream, or if it's just specific to the app manager. I have about another 2-3 hours left to download, so I won't be able to check if it's just the app manager for a while

    That's not specific to the N900, that happens to most phones that are on Edge. It's mostly non-problematic. I've streamed internet radio and received calls just fine. Same thing with downloading files or watching youtube videos. The connections just pause until the call ends then they continue.

    I just ended up canceling the download and closing out app manager, and I see the same thing with streaming podcasts through the browser.

    The phone calling me just rings on the other end and goes to voicemail, with no notification on the n900.

    Could someone else in the US with AT&T verify this for me? I can live with all the other minor bugs, but this is a major issue to me.

    This is not a bug. It happens to phone. Your N900 only spports Edge with AT-T network so you will either receive voice or data at a given time; not both. If you want a 3G service with the N900, you'd need to switch to T-mobile.

    So there's no way in software for the n900 to drop a data stream when a call is incoming and switch to voice?

    I can't use T-Mobile, I don't get service at my house or in my building at work.

    This is not a bug. When I used N95 with T-Mobile I only got EDGE service and I missed many calls while browsing.

    @Botev1912/x61

    Thanks, I just wasn't sure if this was normal behavior.

    Sucks, I love this device, but looks like I'll have to hold out until T-mobile expands their coverage, or the next version supports AT&T 3G bands :/
