Good news for everyone, those on Hutchison 3G USIM especially, it seems this issue has been fixed in firmware 2.2009.47-20 which will be available soon. Just waiting on serveral more confirmation for different countries using 3 sim before general release. Reported tested with Sweden 3 sim and it worked fine.

We'll now see the N900 start distributing more quickly to countries with the Hutchson 3G USIM issue. I believe the push back for the release date was because of this sim issue.

does anyone know the exact date when the new update will be released? I am anxious to use my n900 with my 3 sim.

Can't come fast enough for me, I am having to use my N97 as a Wi-Fi access point so I can use my N900 when on the road which is a bit inconvenient!

Hi paul. Could you tell me how you made ur n97 as an access point? I will try that with my e71

Hi,
It is an application that comes included with the N97 called "Joikuspot" they have a web site, but I think it only works with S60 series 5 devices?

Just checked on the web site and it seems to be compatible with the E71!
