Hi,
My first post so be gentle. I have had the N900 about a week now and love it, especially the the integration of SIP and the browser.
However I have a problem when the phone is in my pocket and someone rings me. The touch screens switches to the phone mode and becomes active so I often cut them off or they get to hear me pulling the phone out of my pocket which is not best way to start a call.
It also happen when in silent profile which means you can accept a call without even knowing.
I have noticed that on other touch screen phones that when a call is received you have perform an unlock action before you can accept/reject a call, does anyone know if the N900 can be setup like this?
Is it strange that my N900 does NOT activate display or touchscreen if it's in my pocket??
They are activated when i take it out from pocket. Maybe you have a proximity-sensor issue?
Already submitted to bugs. But sensor doesn't allow accidental answering in theory. Practice is different though, it has been suggested that proximity sensor be increased in range.
I'm all for it, I muted calls with my cheek before the sensor reacted.
any word on this ? I would like to get the functionality of "slide to answer" when a call is received because majority of times, the phone is answered when I try to take it out of my pocket..which not only causes a disconnect but also causes me to answer call that I do not want

Are there API hooks at this level so at least a developer outside Nokia can implement a fix? Or is this part not 'open'?
