Anyone tried reinstalling the firmware yet?

I'm having a problem. NSU thinks it has 1 second remaining and hasn't done anything.

You just added Debian repos to your N900, right?

How about following that up with trying to reflash the device with itunes then?

    Right over my head.

Are you trying to say I broke the N900?

    Edit: rebooted pc, reinstalling now.

wget is in the fremantle/tools repository IIRC.

    Code:
    deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/tools free non-free

Thanks. Consider me, Mr. Experiment and probably break.

I've managed to get out of that pickle now, software fixed.

I found that wget was already installed. I had hardly installed anything at the point in time I checked, so it looks like it was there all the time? What I did install before then was, afaic, load-applet and not much else.

I think it's pre-installed because it exists and

    dpkg-query -S wget

    doesn't produce a positive result.

But it's inside the following wget package, so I'm pretty sure it's from there.

Ok, for the record, on checking, it seems I installed it on December 5th. My mind is a blank!

Can someone like, re-digest this information so i can figure out how to install wget.

after reading all the posts, i still don't know if:

    A) it comes pre-installed
    B) doesn't exist (were taking taking it straight from deb, breaking maemo)
    C) installing from extras repositories
    D) installing from http://repository.maemo.org/pool/fremantle/free/w/wget/

    thanks
