So, email has been less than reliable, considering I haven't been able to send them due to an SMTP error. So, I wanted to attempt to use Nokia Messaging, but I don't have a SIM card because I'm not using this as my phone (rendering Nokia's sign-up method useless). Upon researching, I discovered that reflashing installs the Nokia Messaging app on the phone. So, I downloaded Nokia Software Updater v1.8.10. It recognizes that there is no SIM card installed, and I don't intend to get one.

How can I get Nokia Messaging on my device so I can benefit from push Gmail service and a working outbox?

The GPS, by the way, needs some work software-wise, I think...

I also needed to reflash because my device suffers from the random rebooting bug occasionally and I wanted to see if that would have any effect.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help.

Would putting in a pay as you go sim card in to do the setup work, then let you use wifi etc?

Brick? It only happens rarely, and I think it has something to do with certain wifi networks.

I'll try finding an older SIM card or something and giving that a go. In the meantime, are there any ways around this?

Oh, I know what you meant. I was just implying that I hopefully won't end up in such a sad situation
