I'm Finland and gmail is in my priority lists bottom, waiting that they get M4F update.

ok , I have the same problem. My company will only support provisional devices. So my E71 stays with me a bit longer. I am autoforwarding my emails to my gmail account at the moment, so I can at least read them on my N900. You can reply (with Gmail masquerading) but the reply address is a bit strange and can cause confusion. Still it only means I need to pull E71 out when I need to reply, which is not that often while I am out and about. mainly I need to know what I am receiving, and its really urgent I call them on the phone.

Hi, I just wondered if someone could give me some advice concerning email with the n900. I am currently using the default email client modest and have it set up with my gmail account on IMAP settings, this all works fine but obviously my phone is syncing with my inbox rather than getting my email pushed through when it arrives. If I set up my gmail account through nokia messaqging, along with my hotmail acount and others, I understand that nokia messaging will push my email straight to my phone but how is my email sent from gmail to nokia messaging to begin with? If nokia messageing just syncs with gmail every 15 minutes or whatever then I wont be getting my email any sooner than if my phone was syncing with the account itself. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated thanks.

Nokia Messaging offers you as soon as possible, 15mins,30 mins,hour,4 hours.

Please note that syncing while you are mobile is not always possible because IMAP cannot maintain connection unless IMAP IDLE is supported. Modest IMAP IDLE is broken at the moment. Hence only solution is Nokia Messaging
