    Hi all,

just got my device exactly a week ago and I am addicted to it.

I love playing around with Linux which includes testing, reporting bugs and writing some simple python/bash programs to make my life easier ;-)

I never had a all-in-one phone but a Mobile phone and a Palm.
At some point I stopped using the Palm because I was to lazy caring around two devices.

But as soon as I read about the N900 running a more or less native Linux distribution I could not resist! Okay, it's not Gentoo, but Debian will do ;-)

The main thing is: OpenSourceSoftware (even thought Maemo is not completely free from CS it's IMHO the best choice)

The killer application for me is OpenVPN
(lets me access my work from everywhere... sweet!)

So lets take it to the top!

    Cheers
    Bjoern

    Hello everyone!

Enjoyed working on the N810 and now moved to the N900. Looking forward to more pen testing tools being added to the repos. Glad to see Aircrack recently added. Now we need to work on that injection capability!

I wouldn't count on it. The Nokia USA site does not have a specific N900 warranty available for viewing but their standard warranty refers to their obligation to service hardware, not software, and specifically says it does not apply if:

"The Product has been subjected to . . . unauthorized
modifications, . . . alteration, improper installation, or other acts
which are not the fault of Nokia"

I suspect that bricking your phone by messing up your software would fall under this and I would also suspect that any insurance or extended warranty you get would have similar terms.
