On the 770, the message "Gaim Internet Messenger - loading" appears for about 3 seconds. Then nothing happens.

gaim-2.0.0.-0nix20 and gaim-protocol-jabber-2.0.0-0nix20 are installed with Application Manager from the repositories listed at http://gaim.garage.maemo.org/

do other packages need to be installed?

Hi, I had exactly the same problem with MSN. It did work before without problems , but not after I upgraded the recent reflash of the OS. Yahoo still works.

Manual uninstall:
You need osso-xterm and becomeroot.
Then:
dpkg --list|grep gaim
dpkg --purge <insert the package names of the above. Version numbers not needed.>

Note that I don't have gaim installed, so I'm just guessing about the 'grep' command (i.e. if if it has 'gaim' in the package name)

Does anyone know how to install your own Smiley Theme?

I have one that works with windows Gaim. On the Smiley Themes tab in Preferences, it says to drag and drop it onto the list to install it. I have no idea how to do that on the N800! Looks like we need another way to install one.

Hey, everyone!

I have released version 2.0.0-0nix23. This will most likely be the last version released under the name "Gaim". I will start re-doing my patches against pidgin, and I will rename everything like they did. I may even start a new garage project ...

Here's what I did:

* Fixed minor issue with initial left tab arrow in preferences
* Compile with D-Bus support and disallow multi-instance
* Fixed up new/edit status window
* Bring existing convo window forward when double-clicking buddy
* Make send button appear only in convo window
* Use connectivity framework
(means that Gaim will immediately disconnect when you lose your connection, and it will reconnect when you acquire a new one)
* Re-added g_slice stuff - no hangage (it was due to sound, not g_slice)
* Turn account and protocol option menus into combo boxes

Oops ... I accidentally mentioned one of those items twice in my changelog and in the news entry ...
