Ringtone mp3 is converted to wav with a really low 768kbps! Thats why the speakers are creaking. This quality is the same as a 32kbps mp3 anyway.

The speakers will be killed as soon as possible because of creaking, and this wont be included into the warranty.

Thats why it is so important! Comment the bug, please if you have this problem!

I dont understand why cant maemo 5 uses mp3 as a ringtone, why forces the system to convert the selected mp3 to a wav file???

I also Have this problem, and really hope this will be fix soon because it's makes me really when somebody is calling me.

And also i dont't understand why the mp3 must be converted to a lower quality file.

Now day's simple cheap phones can play mp3 as a ringtone without converting, so why must the N900 convert the mp3.
