Has anyone run into this before? One day the Wifi wasn't working, so I did a soft reboot and it started working. Now its just completely not working no matter what I do. I've even backed up and reflashed the poor thing, but I'm not convinced it went perfectly since some data was preserved after the wipe.

This is more of me just wondering if its happened before so I can track down a proper windows / linux machine to flash in the firmware. I can't believe how useless the thing is without internet lol =)

The wifi module seems to have taken a dump... I'm dying without my tablet! Someone help me!!! lol

Hopefully it won't take too long to repair.

Did you try with another wi-fi access point? Sometimes there are problems with an AP, and it's a good idea to try another before giving up. Or, if you have another device (PC, laptop) you can use to verify that the wi-fi AP is ok. For example, around here I occasionally have to restart power on a bunch of repeaters because they starts behaving badly. And now and then the wi-fi in the pub doesn't work reliably, at those times I check with the nearby library AP (which needs a login/pw to work fully, but just connecting to verify that wi-fi works is sufficient). There's a lot of cheap wi-fi hardware out there that need to be power cycled now and then.

Ta-t3 yea i did. In my apartment there is about 15 networks, they all just up and disappeared from my menu.

Anyways, the reason I'm posting again is that I sent my N800 in on the 12th of March, and it arrived at the nokia repair center on the 14th...

Its now April 10th, and it hasn't even been entered into their system. I've called and complained many times, and they claim there is an expedite on my repair but still no status on it. According to them, i can take further action on the 13th as it will have reached the 30 day mark.

I'm so very aggrivated. I hope that my n800 comes back perfect, and i never have to deal with their terrible support again.

Does anyone else find nokia's support for the n800 frustrating? We're all essentially using a buggy device (which is still cool), and we wait patiently for firmware updates/usability upgrades. I'd at least expect Nokia to resolve our hardware problems in a timely fashion, to appease the very people they want to have spread good word about their devices.

I definitely went from the "i don't want an iphone" to, "if i get an iphone, i can at least rely on it" after this whole Nokia experience.

Sure its a closed platform, but i know that the email and web browsing features will be reliable. I had my ipod take a dump, and I got a brand new one the SAME day. My Macbook pro HDD died, Apple had my machine shipped back to me in 3 days TOTAL time. Those are products, and a company I can trust.
