Hey guys ... Well I have a Clear Protector screen protector right now, and as many of you may know, the application of this screen protector on the N900 requires some liquid application (I'm thinking: liquid + electronics = KABOOM!) ..

So before I actually start the application procedure, I thought I should get some advice/tips on how to go about doing this from people who have already done it .. Like what to do, and what to avoid, etc ..

So please do share your experiences regarding applying this screen protector on your N900 ...

Also. if you happen to know and youtube videos which demonstrate the application procedure, please share their links here too, ask I was unable to find any such videos ..

Lastly, I know there are quite a few other screen protector related threads which may contain some pointers on how to apply such protectors, but having a separate thread specifically targeting the topic of application is probably a good idea, as I know many people would want to ask this question as well ...

hm, read the instructions?

i'm pretty sure you are not supposed to pour any liquid roughly over the device, but rather take a towel or cloth or so, wet it with the liquid and then apply that on the screen.

I think you should leave it soaking in a bowl of fairy over night

The trick is don't put too much water - apply a few drops of water to the sticky side of the protector to make the surface non-sticky and carefully align it on top of the device's screen. Notice that when doing the alignment, water may bleed to the egde of the sreen. when this happens, just use a paper towel to remove the water (use high quality paper to avoid dirts).

There are a few things you need to be very careful or you will end up the need to order a new one:

1) Wash your hands to make it oil free.
2) Clean your device's screen making sure that it is dust and oil free. I suggest you carefully wipe the screen for a minute or two under bright lighting using cloth comes with the device.
3) Make sure the environment where you apply the protector is clean as dusts can easily get into the sticky side of the prtotector. One something gets in, it is almost not possible to get it out.
4) I suggest you leave the device on during the alignment process so you can easily see whether there are dirts underneath it or not. I installed liqtorch which works great for this.
5) Secure the protector on the screen by pressing it gentlly with you thumb and scratch it with a flat object such as credit card.

I feel that that's not much difference using soap-water mixture or warer only.

I just dipped the whole screen protector in a bowl of soapy water, I then let it drip off giving it a very good shake to get rid of as much excess water as possible,

Then put on the screen n squeezy out as much water as possible n whipe with a towel.

Make sure you clean the screen properly before you apply the protector

Soapy water? meh, I just licked my N900. Tasted good. No air bubbles either which was a bonus.

If your kit came with a sponge, throw out the sponge.

The water needs to be just soapy enough to be slippery. This will prevent the adhesive on the screen protector from bonding.

Keep your fingers wet and soapy. Obsessively dip them in your soap solution when handling the protector.

Dip the protector in the soapy water and lightly mist the surface of the device using a spray bottle. The goal is to "float" the protector on a very thin layer of water.

You have lots of time to get the protector properly aligned, so make sure it's perfect!
