Am I the only one thinking that it takes too long for the auto rotation to set in when turning the phone for phone mode ?

It takes like 2 secs - which is way too much!!

Anyone know of any tricks to do ??

I think it has a delay so that you don't enable it accidentally. But I don't like this delay either.

Oh well, please don't complain about anything regarding the portrait mode, atm.
It's common knowledge that it'll be totally remade and all issues are trying to be fixed.
The result will be an update at the end of this year.

For the time being can the phone application be forced to stay in portrait at all times regardless of the device's orientation?

You just have to disable the autorotation feature
