Go to any existing page and create an internal link eg "[page name]"
now save your change. Click on the link you just created, and a new page will appear infront of you with the name you chose.
make sure you link from somewhere relevant such as the FAQ or index.

I lucked out -- I'd originally called everything "cover.png" from back when I was using my N800 and MediaBox.

If you're willing to try out the terminal, here are some commands that may help (note that the "$" below is the prompt) somewhat.

This will move you to the "Audio clips" directory. I'm assuming all your songs are here.
Code:
$ cd MyDocs/.sounds
This will (should) list all the files named "default.jpg"
Code:
$ find . -name default.jpg
I was trying to work out something on the terminal to rename them all for you, but I've gotten stuck on items with spaces, and don't have time right now to figure it out, sorry.

Done. See http://wiki.maemo.org/Media_Player_Album_Art. I also linked it to the Beginners category.

Thanks for raising the profile of this. I think there's a bug in the way Media Player implements the spec though. Confirmation of #7263 welcome :-)

Hmm. All my art is currently using the external file method I detailed earlier.

As your bug suggests, all of the files in my ~/.cache/media-art directory start with "album-7215ee9c7d9dc229d2921a40e899ec5f-".

If I try your step 6 with a similar situation to yours ("1 album, 1 song", but with my own file and art), I still get a thumbnail on the right.

So, I agree that it's doing something strange in the media-art directory, but I can't reproduce your lack of thumbnail. I'll try again later, at home, with your files.

Edit: Okay, tried it with your files. I downloaded your two files into ~/MyDocs/tmp, then moved the directory into ~/MyDocs/.sounds, and the art shows up. So I think there is another bug -- the art has to be indexed by tracker (it must setup something somewhere) rather than just being put into the media-art directory before it will show up in the media player.

OMG! The built in media player does not support cover art unless it is embedded in the song's tag.

Kidding. I just want to know if any of you guys have problem with the 1 sec gap between songs. The songs I listen to are usually connected so you don't feel the pause when the songs change but with n900 you feel that gap. Does anyone experience the same problem?

All right, where's that anti-Thanks button?!

I haven't noticed it, as my songs aren't very "connected" and I usually have shuffle on.

It's related to the fact that MP3 is decoded by the DSP and this processor can only decode one stream at a time, so there's no smooth transitioning. But one second gap sounds a bit exaggerated, doesn't it?

AAARRRRGGHH! I am going nuts and I am a noob. I can see some cover art pictures in the audio file folder of an album though the file manager. BUT, the Media Player does not recognize/show the pics. I've tried cover.jpg, cover.jpeg, cover.png - none of them work. What else could it be?

ps. I did not bother to restart the whole device after each change of extension. Should I?
