Here I sit in the hospital, brought in last night due to kidney stones.

I have my laptop and my N800. The hospital wifi is crap... my laptop can't connect worth a damn. The N800 is struggling, but managing MUCH better. So with the tablet I can post this. With the laptop right now, I couldn't.

There you go.

Sorry about your kidney stones.

Your wifi experience is as mine is: the signal is MUCH stronger than on my laptop.

I had the same good hospital WiFi experience with my 770 last september, when they cut my head off (not entirely, but the surgeon claimed it was the only way he could get at my spine): Very good reception from a rogue network next door, while the guy who brought his laptop had nothing. I'd have laughed, but it hurt too much.

Good luck on the stones; consider it the first step to home ownership.

Thanks. Just got out of surgery an hour ago. Stone was 4mm by 8mm; biggest I've ever tried to pass. They busted it up with a laser and I'm now peeing gravel and eating hospital food.

On a brighter note, I finally got through on their crappy wifi with my laptop. The N800 is recharging.

Other than that this is a nice little setup. There's a mini office in my hospital room, which is the best I've ever stayed in (Baylor Grapevine, TX). I should get out tomorrow.

That sounds like the makings of a YouTube video, Texrat!!

Glad to hear you're doing well - enjoy your rest & recuperation!

I do wish you hadn't mentioned the gravel!

Too bad.

Back on topic: it was sure nice that my wife brought the N800 up. It was very frustrating not being able to use the laptop.

I'm more mobile now, and my better half brought up a lan cable so now the laptop is good to go. Maybe next time this happens (about every 2 years) I'll have my portable wifi router in the laptop bag and can plug that sucker in. Can't wait to see the nurses' reactions then!
