so if santa left orangebox an n900 in his stocking he would start comparing it to a lump of coal? I think he would probably be better off with a lump of coal. it might take better pictures......but he doesnt know cause he doesnt own one.

Most come out okay but certain lighting is bad like Christmas lights in low light. The wife prepping X-mas lights came out blurred

Quite sure. I always check for a green indicator before I take the picture.

I am satisfied with the n900 camera quality. I previously owned a n95 and e71. One thing I do not like about the n900 camera housing is that the back cover has the lens cover attached.

Apparently not as I find the N73 to have quite satisfactory quality. But judge for yourselves. These two images are taken in the same room under similar lighting conditions:

    useless thread.
i had both dslr and my n900... both had different uses.

no one with a sane mind uses a cel phone camera expecting dslr quality.

maybe you should create a thread with about your inability to fit a dslr in your pocket.

I think the topic should be don't expect miracles with the camera in low light. Camera works fine with enough light imo, after using my n95 anyway.

I'm a big fan of my (two :-) N900 - but the camera sucks in low light. And in focus speed. In fact, for mobile photography, I REALLY miss my N82 which had a superb camera; with the N900 I get the feeeling of a BIG step back in image quality in low light conditions. It a shame, really.
    (Outdoor is ok)

I'm afraid I don't have the original N73 image here. But the N900 can be fetched here at least:
