Hi... I know I only seem to post about this BT device handling issue, but...

Yesterday I rebooted my n800 - actually I shut it down and it rebooted itself - and my Thinkoutside BT keyboard was sitting next to it, open, and I happened to tap a key just after the n800 finished booting. It connected... I didn't even mean to do it. wtf? I have not repeated this experiment.

Now - this is great - this is how it's supposed to work, but why didn't it work before? Of course I won't be surprised that when I try this again it won't work, but hey - at least I know it *can* happen!

edit: it worked again.. i didn't even have to reboot... but I didn't fold up the keyboard - I'll try that now... even after a fold up it worked. cool.

I just got my stowaway today and I noticed the same thing. I haven't really tested with it, but of the one time I rebooted the device, the keyboard connected automatically.

Hi!

Thats quite normal! The stowaway recognizes devices to which it has connected before and connects to them automaticially when such a device is in range. I think thars quite cool :-)! Btw the informationen is from the stowaway hp. Thats only one useful feature! Check the website! I hope i will get my stowaway keyboard soon.

Regards,

garfield

yes, I know. The issue was that before when I would try this it wouldn't connect, and I would have to go to :
control panel>BT>devices>keyboard>connect
every time I wanted to connect to my kb. For some reason now I don't have to do that. Not sure if I was doing something silly before or if the gremlin left my n800. Either way I am pleased that it is behaving as it should, and how it used to with my 770 and the wonderful BT-plugin.

cheers.

Must say I never had any problem, this is how my keyboard always acted, click a key and it connects even with the old firmware.
I always hear of problems that people are having with the N800 rebooting, BT problems, VPN I never have any problems maybe I should touch wood but the device seems to work as advertised for me. I don't tinker all that much though maybe thats why.

I strongly recommend getting one with a separate row of numeric keys, like the one Joshua refers to. You can use the Fn + numeric key combination to act as function keys, which can be very useful. For more details see this thread:

Joshua, I had the same problem of having to go through the control panel (about 5 different screens) to reconnect my keyboard. It works correctly (kind of: see my post here http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ead.php?t=5704) since the recent OS update.
