What a neat flashlight! Works well for me. Took me a minute to find the UI, but now that I have, it makes perfect sense.

Still getting a bug which disables my camera. Steps to reproduce:

    Open the shutter.
With the camera app still open, go to the desktop.
    Start Flashlight
return to the camera app and try to take a picture. The camera will report "Operation Failed".
Any further attempt to load the camera app without resetting the N900 will report "Operation Failed".

Please, anyone see if they can confirm this. Also, is there a bugtracker that I should be reporting to?

I can confirm that (using 51.1), already reported a bug: https://garage.maemo.org/tracker/ind...1165&atid=4364

This is a blocker since it breaks a system feature.

Anyone know this, the developer? I really don't want to break the LEDs....

where are you guys worrying about? my n95 and n96 even have an official option to turn on the flash when making a video to have supported light.

I dont think you can break your LED. by turning them on and keep them on.

LEDs are tough to break...but if this app sets the LEDs to maximum brightness (like the brightness the moment you take a picture with flash), it will shorten lifespan.

This flashlight app is cool! Finally I can use my phone as if it is a real torch! Thankfully the flashlight is not in red like my n95 8gb used to...

Open camera cover, close the camera application. At the desktop, Press the status bar (the bar with the clock) as you would do to initiate internet connection or wifi, you should see "Flashlight" appears in the status menu.

An interface which I would really like to have is for the flashlight to be activated by sliding the lens cover open twice within two seconds, e.g. open-shut-open. Then there would be no need to fiddle with the on-screen interface (which for me means putting on my reading glasses!).

    Regards,
    Roger
