I've been using pidgin and i've noticed each time I log in (to msn) with it it downloads roughly 1.4mb. I'm guessing it might be getting contact lists everytime along with info, is there some way to cache it?
Mine would always download about 256kb, though I'd only have 6-10 people online. I'd imagine no caching, as it's all constantly changing and probably isn't clever enough to know a display picture stays the same.
