Most of the iPhone games are multitouch games. Since the N900 doesn't have multitouch is still possible to have games created like the iPhones but using the QWERTY keyboard right?
TBH i wouldn't mind using both QWERTY and Touch at the same time. It might look weird but as long as we can run this awesome games on the N900 it's worth buying them. Lets hope Nokia would support us more game developers or else the 3D functionality will be a waste.
I agree with TooMuchMoney, I prefer playing games with buttons too. I've tried multitouch once on a friend's iPhone and I've found it absolutely not handly and very boring (appropriate for the main part of games actually running on the iPhone, in my opinion, in which you have to do the same two things again and again...). QWERTY has potential in gaming, hope to see it used soon.
Tried some golf racing game with both acclerometer and touch control. Everything was oversensitive and completley unplayabe. Shooters, same story...
Resistive is much better since it can feel your finger pressure; I can only hope nokia is going to use it's 3D touch technology based on the area of the finger that comes in contact with the screen to emulate the resistive presure sensing on it's future capacitative devices.

I agree. If Nokia doesn't provide us any 3D game then its a waste of making the N900 run 3D games.
Sure the tactile feedback would be much better should we play using hardware keys, but please do not ignore the fact that the inclusion of such keys often
1. Add clutter to physical design
2. Add heft to the device
Should you want a sleek clean mono-block gaming device, MT is definitely required.
Haven't got my N900 yet but I'm excited about its capabilities when it comes to gaming, as well as other features...
I believe a real time action game (like FPS, and other games that constantly need to adjust the camera and movement at the same time) needs TWO directional pads, and an additional ONE action-button press-able at the same time... at least.
The problem is, even with the iPhone (and I don't own one, I just played my friend's) is that we use our thumbs for the front of the device, so we only have two clickable spots available while I say we need three.
I think the solution is looking at real consoles controllers. Why aren't we using the buttons on the side of the device? I know they're not designed for it, I don't even know if they're accessible for the developers... but they will do just great I bet. I'm talking about volume, camera, etc. Look at this photo. See where his fingers go?
So it doesn't matter if we use the QWERTY + Screen or QWERTY + QWERTY, I think allowing more intuitive controls at the same time is the key for making the handling of a game smooth.
I left the accelerometer out because I too feel it doesn't work well for action games. It's a fun gimmick for specific games, but not something I'd play with for an FPS game ideally.
I was a huge iPhone fanboy for the longest time. But the only game I found playable was Civ. All those action games (doom, resident evil, dragon flight simulator etc) were just impossible to control with the minimal multi touch screen.
As far as games go, I feel that the iPhone is at a dead end. Sure, a lot of games are made for it and even downloaded (purchased), but is anyone actually playing Resident Evil (to pick just one example)? Myself, I found it completely unplayable, but it's a very good example of the fundamental problem with controlling games using a (small) touch screen.
Playing games on the iPhone just wasn't fun for me.
Apple got multitouch games because apple devices do not have keys. So simple. N900 has a full qwerty keyboard and there won't be any problems if keys for each games will be nice assigned. I hope big companies make games 4 n900 soon, its enough(4 me) with emulators but mini games like 100boxes, marbles etc are nice.
