sorry if I missed this somewhere else on the forum, but this thread caught my particular attention because we have wired only connections at the office.

I do not have an n800, I've been sitting back watching and excited at how the internet tablet is evolving, I think at the 3rd generation I'll take the plunge

With my old Axim I would just use an MSI bluetooth dongle plugged into the ethernet connected PC, which worked fantastic, and excellent range too. Built-in WinXP drivers worked fine, so nothing to install.

Is the n800 capable of similar connectivity?

    Neil

I haven't gotten that to work, but others have. I believe there are posts here covering the subject.

I just got one of these too, since I'll be traveling in the next couple of weeks, and it was extremely easy to set up and use. I think I'm going to use this as a sort of wireless extender while at home too - I live in an extremely long and narrow brick building (typical Chicago 3-flat style building).

    Highly recommended.

and get one of these puppies:

Hey, Dietrich, this Mark got a N800 about 2 weeks ago and bought the Linksys WiFi Travel Router..but would be nice to have this little USB Ethernet adapter too....

Are you sure that it works with N800??

So you need to install specific software to get it to work per that link you provide, right?

    Thanks,

    Mark

    the g_ethernet.ko is needed on the N800;
everything else is shell to hotplug mount of the /dev/usb0 and load the ethernet module.

And, no, I am not sure. When I get the linksys usb ethernet adapter I'll give it a shot and let you know (here at Internettabletalk) the results.

    Talk to you soon!

Cheap USB->Ethernet adapters are available on ebay (from Hong Kong) for about $8 including shipping. I just bought one. I'll see if it works once it shows up.

Well, it's been over a year since the last post, but I'm gonna resurrect this ol' thread.....

Any success out there with USB ethernet adapters?

If so, please let me know which ones are working!

    Thanks!
