I am not going to touch terminal - I have no clue what I am doing (as you can probably tell)!

Anyways, I have some confusing updates.. I managed to get one cover art pic to show by downloading it directly from the album's Wikipedia page to the album folder on my N900, moving the whole artist's folder to TMP and back to Music. Yippee, right? Well yeah, except that the next album I tried it on... did not work any more.. if I had some hair I would be pulling it out right now. I guess I should be happy to at least have the cover on my Siamese Dream now..

Be just a little bit more patient.
There will be a more usable version of MediaBox for the N900 very soon.
2009.11.1 is quite old.
It will support folder-based browsing as well as browsing by album, artist, genre (if your ID tags are set correctly). So it should offer something for everyone's taste.

Tracker is used by MediaBox on the N900 for discovering files. But you don't have to rely on it and just browse the folders instead.

Is it being used in the 2009.11.1 version? My foreign language stuff shows up properly there, but not in the built in media player. I thought it was tracker's fault, but maybe its not...

Tracker is only used for getting the list of available files. Tag parsing is still done by MediaBox itself.

Ok, so now I have "cover.jpg" files in at least 5 different album's folders, have moved them to TMP and back to MUSIC and nothing.. Any more ideas on how I could get my N900 to acknowledge my hard work and show the damned pictures already?

Have you tried clearing the tracker database before moving the songs back?

1. Start the terminal. You start in the user account.
2. Type "tracker-processes -r", withouth the quotes. Hit enter.
3. All done. Close the terminal.

Ok, thanks a million, let me try that. I'll come to you crying for help if I manage to mess it up!

Edit: Did that and got "-sh: tracker-processes-r: not found" Is that what it's supposed to say (btw, no cover art pics for those albums after I did that either)?
