Yup, using it now. Settings are in the Control Panel Personalisation page.

I think there's a small bug. When selecting, sometimes the icons go into a "half-click" (smaller icon image) and the app doesn't launch. I have to tap that icon again for slightly longer to get the app to launch. Anyone with this issue?

yeah, but the "half-tap" issue only seems to happen when you use the stylus. When tapping icons with the hand, it seems to work fine for me.

However, neither Horizon app or Mame work with this launcher,
and weirdly, the clock app works fine on the 770
but gives a message that it is loading on the N800 and hangs,
never actually loading at all.

So, I use the old launcher for mame, horizon, and the clock.

Nice app, and very useful.

I am trying to launch a shell script from within Idea and noticed that, even with the necessary .desktop files in place, Idea does not launch the scripts. Adding a D-Bus service merely results in a "loading" message, but nothing ever loads. I tried a couple of my own scripts as well as x11vnc.sh -- all of which launch perfectly from the "standard" launcher but do not run from within Idea. Any thoughts?

Btw, the half-tap thing seems to be a timing issue: if you press the stylus for long enough, the app will launch.

I found the double tap issue useful when using the stylus where I'm more inclined to select the wrong app at first.

I think it is a feature.

There is never a problem when using my finger. I did notice, as convoluted mentioned above, that if you hold the stylus on the icon the app does open with a single click after a short time.

Errant stylus taps however, will just reduce the icons' size and not launch the app.
Did you notice you can pre-load or single tap and reduce all the icons one at time and prime them for a single tap later? Maybe this behavior should be timed as well, eh?

BTW, the "Simple Launcher" app did not support D-bus at first either. I haven't tried to run both concurrently. If it works, perhaps you can use "Simple Launcher" for just scripts. It has a different appearance on the desktop but all your scripts would have the same default icon.

What would be cool is if "idea" could be used to launch "Simple Launcher" as sort of a D-Bus sub folder.

You have to create a .desktop file for them. Check out the maemo.org wiki... it's buried somewhere or other. They then show up on both the Idea and the Simple Launcher lists and on the application launcher on the left (I am pretty sure that this can be disabled though), but launching them from Idea does nothing.

thanks, I found example wiki page:
https://maemo.org/maemowiki/HowTo_SimpleToggles
but with simple launcher in my case nothing happens:
example.desktop
--------------------------------
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Version=1.0
Type=Application
Name=MyScript
Exec=/home/user/example.sh
X-HildonDesk-ShowInToolbar=true
X-Osso-Type=application/x-executable
Terminal=false
-----------------------

edit: basic start guide:
http://maemo.org//platform/docs/howt...mo-desktopfile
