I find in-canal 'phones uncomfortable so those are perfect for me.
Well, Nokia was selling devices with video-out/mic-in rings in their 3.5mm jacks long before the iPhone was released with a different 3.5mm ring configuration. So, it's a hardware issue, but I'm not sure Nokia can be faulted for not following the iPhone "standard" before it existed.
So I went to the apple store to buy new earphones.
Since I wanted one with a Mic, i tried both the Klipch S4i and Schorche i350md. and the moment i plugged them into my cellphone, there was a constant buzz.
I tried playing music, and even though it worked, I could constantly hear a pretty loud buzzing.
About the buzzing, I've found out that with my Apple mic earphones if I press the button in the earphones as I'm plugging them it, there's no buzz.
Currently using the supplied 'phones because the Shure E530s I bought on a recent trip to NY in anticipation of getting the N900 don't play in stereo on it. They work beautifully on everything else of course! Murphy you low b*st*rd...
