I messed up my Audio Player while trying to install something else. So I deleted it in the Applications installer, with the idea I would just re-install it the same way. Oops.
I was messing with libraries, messed something else up, and finally just got fed up. I was about to re-flash it when I found an 45.6MB file named myRootImage.tar.gz and looked into it. It was a new filesystem image. I got it while following instructions on http://wiki.maemo.org/Modifying_the_root_image
and still had it.
Sure, I could have flashed my device, but I would lose everything on it, and my settings, bookmarks etc.
My tablet is dual-boot, so I booted off of the original install.
I plugged my USB cable in.
(I use Ubuntu, so you Windows users have to improvise.)
