    'internal error application 'settings' closed' message on mp3 ringtone

    i'm getting this message when i try to select an mp3 as ringtone.weirdly some mp3s are in sounds folder and some in music. i'm using media monkey to sync. Seem to get same message with either folder. Any ideas?.

    oooo no idea.... possibly a length of sound issue? or maybe a codec issue?

    oh possibly yes. i'd always had a full song on my n95 because i dont need voicemail. is there a specific length they shouldn.t exceed? i know iphone is 15 seconds.

    oh it seems the n900 prefers the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to Muse and has accepted the entire song. Ah well. realistically i suppose it might be codecs or something though.

    ooo do like both so sounds ok to me

    Bit of supermassiveblackholey'o would be cool too

    Able to find out the codec info from both?

    Erm, in the three players i have
    VLC
    Open the song
    Click Tools
    Click Media Information
    Click Codec Details

    Media Player 11
    Right Click on the title name (My screen is bottom left)
    Click File
    Click Properties

    Quicktime Player 7.6.2
    Click Window
    Click Show Movie Inspector

    Hi Noob sorry, thanks for posting the codec settings etc. I'm away from the 'puter for a couple of days so haven't been able to check yet unfortunately. Will do as soon as though and post back
