    I am so pissed....

sent my n900 to service a bit less than a week before a patch to fix random reboots was announced.

service said that it will take 2 weeks.. ...now it has been 3 weeks in service and will get a new device...

    ...probably next week.

    FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

just had to write this to get this away from my chest.

why did you sent in to the service in the first place? they should have given you a new device right away, since it was dead on arrival.

I am sorry to hear that. Hope you'll get it back soon.

OTOH I was surprised of the tone of your post, you generally seem to be in control of your emotions.

i kept my phone ovcer DOA deadline mainly to report reboots and wait for sw fix. lost my faith bit too early.

no it wasn't dead. just frequent reboots that most probably would have stopped with the patch...

look the first bugzilla link at my signature, there you can find the method to apply the patch which is echoing zero to a file to stop the device from going to deepest sleep.

This same happened to me. I got a DOA device with a broken screen, sent it to the repairs. They promised it'd take 2 weeks. Well, after 2 weeks I went to the verkkokauppa customer service and demanded a refund. Well they then decided to send me a replacement. So here am I typing with my replacement N900.
