Hi,

Since today, when I start my Nokia 770 it always has the same date 1/1/1970 and 0:00 time. If I correct the date and reboot the machine it continues to reset it's time to 1/1/1970 0:00.
I even formatted and reinstalled the system to the latest Maemo version but this problem persists.
Any clue on what it is happening?

Thanks

It sounds like a bad CMOS battery. I'm not sure if the 770 uses one, but in Thoughtfix's pictures there appears to be a battery soldered to the lower right corner of the board.

The n800 also appears to have a battery inside: ( near the usb port )

If you're pretty good with a soldering iron you could try changing it, otherwise just don't reboot it. Or, you could send it to the "roach motel" for repair.
