they link the N800 up to a large flatscreen monitor at the CES Show in Las Vegas. Anybody know how they did that?

VNC would make sense as it's clearly not coming straight from the N800 as you can see the ms windows bar at the top of the screen.

Yes, the Nokia rep does seem a bit flexible with the truth. Still, it's nice to see the N800 get some adulation.

lool that camera guy keeps thrashing questions at the representative, putting him on the hot seat all the time.

If you use VNC to view your PC on your N800, you are basically using VNC "Viewer" but in order to to view the N800 on a screen you can use VNC "server" installed on the N800 which then the VNC viewer on your PC would be used for viewing the content.

I am running a 19" ViewSonic LCD monitor at 1440 x 900 resolution and it looks sweet

also tested it on my 50" Panasonic Viera plamsa tv but for some people might be wierd, as the interface tends to stretch to the size of the screen in my case 50" which makes the buttons and menus massive

, you could just correct this by changing the tv's aspect ratio to 4:9 and will make it slightly smaller more square as apposed to rectangular

thats a good thing. the camera man is serving the customers interest whereas the nokia rep is serving the companies.

the vnc server/viewed, are they process intensive for the n800?

In regards to process usage, I use VNC to view Vista OS and it does lag quite abit when performing simple actions such as right click (delay when viewing menu) but thats maybe because my connection is slow only 1mb

Overall it performs OK, and you can also rotate it so if you want to view loads of text for example in IE or a document it allows you to view portrait.
