I'm glad that n900 has resistive touch screen instead of capacitive. Why?

Because phones with capacitive screen cannot select a web link with finger, especially those tiny ones placed closely to each other, without zooming in first! Imagine how frustrating zooming in and out many times for web browsing. with Resistive all we have to do is select the link with the tip of our finger nail or stylus!

IMO, capacitive or multi touch is only good for gaming. when it comes to Web Browsing, resistive screen rocks!

Agree, but the trackball on Androids (HTC at least) isn't all that bad either.

Trackball on a touch screen doesn’t make much sense to me.

Not to mention that n900 maemo browser has hover and manipulation mode, which you can use a mouse cursor as well to hover drop down buttons and menus instead of just fully relying touch and select. http://maemo.nokia.com/features/maemo-browser/gestures/

Hmm. I just want screen with multitouch and same experience what n900 gives as accuracy and sensitivity of Iphone.

Btw. Just yesterday noticed that when using with fingers N900 it´s best way to use index fingers nail so that you have key pinch grip. That wasnt obvious at least to me. Took couple of weeks to notice that :| When i give people testing N900 they make lots of mistakes with cliking because of screen swiping has to be with constant pressure.

Well, it works and it works well. The "sense" in it is of cource to be able to hit small spots on a capacitive screen. Maemo 6 will probably have some similar thing.

And if you live in frozen hostile wasteland like Finland where temperature goes far beyond zero degrees of celsius you cannot use phone without gloves... try to call somebody or answer with capasitive screen + gloves.

for your info, screen swiping can be done by lightly swiping your screen with your index finger nail. No constant pressure required.

Now you said somethng that makes a lot of sense to me!! and track ball??? what the hell?? are we going backward, at least the trackball in blackjellies are useless and unpractical, I have the feeling that I am going to push it into the phone's body.

i think capacitive screens are better for browsing as well as gaming....when browsing on my ipod touch even small links r easy to press with your finger without zooming in. using the stlyus may b more accurate but its just something extra u have to do by using the stylus while browsing. and its pretty ez and fluid to zoom in using multitouch and than pressing a link that may be between others....i think capacitive is definitely better overall. obviously unless you have to wear gloves alot.
