I've been experiencing a few problems with crashing programs and was hoping for some pointers to the cause...

So far these are the programs that crash on que...

Scummvm - Once a file has been loaded
ioQuake3 - never launches
BlueMaemo - never launches
Beneath a Steel Sky - never launches

Today I reinstalled my N900 thinking I somehow botched up the OS installing various applications, but am experiencing the same problems,

Any info would be great - this N900 is one hard nut to de-bug

Havent tried those softwares, but i have one other program which has same kind of symptons than yours... KMplayer (UI for mplayer) cannot playback anything. Just blink screen on/off until videoclip is somehow over or i reboot whole damn thing. Mplayer itself works perfectly from terminal.

I had this too a few days ago with latest mplayer from extras-devel. Killing mplayer worked too (I was logged in via ssh). dmesg showed a long list of errors, something with resetting the dsp IIIRC.
Somehow it doesn't occur later on, haven't rebooted since then.
