One thing that annoys me in the n900: Why doesn't it work to press y on the y/n question of apt-get? Now we always have to write...
Code:
apt-get -y install <application>
... which isn't always the preferred way to do it? If i for example get a dependency that i dont want along with an application, i have to quickly press ctrl+c to interrupt processing, instead of just choosing no at the prompt.
Pressing y works fine for me. ISTR there's an issue with other language versions though, where it says to press Y/N but actually wants the localised equivalents (or vice-versa).
Ok, wierd, i use swedish version of n900 and i just get "Aborted." when i try to press y och Y. I'll try to change language to english tonight.
I'm a swede too and havn't tried to install applications with apt-get yet, but maybe you should try to press "j" as in "ja" (yes in swedish) even though it tells you to press "y".
You can use the -y prefix, but also my friend told me you can just click enter button when that prompt comes up... That works, at least in the swedish version.
I see theres a lot of solutions for this, when you say it - i remember that J/n is the default on desktop linux. It's just a missing translation in apt-get
And to clarify the thing with the standard option: If you just press enter, the option in capital will be chosen. For apt-get this is usually [Y/n], so pressing enter at this prompt will choose yes.
