Hi!

I downloaded the Game Boy Advance emulator (the .deb file) from this maemo site and I can't install it on my N900. I tried to open it in the file manager, i choosed "open with app manager"-> app manager started, nothing else happend. My question is:
-How can I install this .deb applications directly from the mass memory?
Thanx!

Its your first post... why don't you just use the search function?

There are plenty threads already with the same questions...

You don't need to download any files. The emulators are back on the Maemo repos. Go to App Manager, tap on Update. Then go to Download and search for the package

1. open x-term
2. type - "sudo gainroot" (you will need rootsh installed)
3. "dpkg -i PackageName.deb"
probably you will miss some dependencies. You will get message during installation if something missing. missing packages you can install by command:
"apt-get install NameOfMissingPackage"
if something will be wrong and you will need remove your package type:
"apt-get remove PackageName"
