Thanks, hwong_pz, I am going to look at this carefully, perhaps there is also another method beyond the one I mentioned.

hwong_pz, I was able to open the original document and studied it carefully. The jury is still out on what I am going to do. It was nice to see that nokia had put so much thought into all the other aspects of the device, I was particularly taken with the placement of their headphone plug, and how it actually sits in the case and the main board just rubs on it, makes it very simple to replace/maintain... same with camera replacement. I didn't realize that this device was so modular. That puts my warranty in much better standing, perhaps even "upgrades" are possible in the future. Who knows. So, I will need to think this through. However, your email and link was highly appreciated. Would love to see updated versions of this document as more refinements are made, to see how the hardware evolves. Thanks again.

A bit interresting is point 15 in Nokias dismantling guide:

15: While reloving the engine board, be careful not to damage the USB connector.

So, dismantling the N900 can damage the USB connector. I just wonder, of the reports of USB ports coming off, how many have dismantled their N900?
