Is there any software yet or coming that allows downloading jpeg (or even raw) from camera to n900 directly via cameras usb to phones usb?

If not, somebody wise man (or woman), please please make software!

That would be software what i could pay for!

It's not about software, it's already written. N900 has no USB host support, as in it doesn't provide the power for USB. People are working on details (search forum for USB host), but ultimately one might need to use a hardware adapter (the DIY kind).

There are plenty details on the forum.
Here!

you need some usb data copier, google for it
and you will have to carry another device, charger and two usb cables.
you can also check the wifi sd cards but i am not sure it's an option without access point mode on n900 wifi

The lack of USB host support alone will keep me from replacing my N810 with an N900.

It should work in ad-hoc. Problem is last I checked the eye-fi or whats-its-face used SMB - sore lacking and missed on N900 (but there's kernel support, whatever that means).
