Since yesterday I can't call anyone. I remember the phone crashing but I can't say if the problem started right after that. Receiving calls isn't possible either. The SIM card works perfectly fine in another phone. I tried to reflash the n900 but it did not fix the problem.

thanks in advance for some help.

You "tried" to reflash, or you did reflash? I had this problem once, but a simple reboot fixed it for me. Hope someone can help you.

Uninstall 3g/2g selector. Reboot then power off. Remove battery and press and hold power button for 10 secs whilst battery is out. Replace battery and power on. Select gsm only in settings to start off with.should solve the problem with network sync.

Thanks, that sorted it. I persevered with the 3g/2g selector and got it working now.
