I don't want it to be a general purpose GUI wrapper for apt, and don't think that is a good use of resources, either. The source code is there, though, if you feel differently.
I know. I just doesn't want to spent another time and root FS space to install aptitude, synaptic, KPackage or else.

OK guys, you just replace one problem with another and don't solve any. 'aptitude' does exist now and it would be used after that because the limits of cripple HAM will force anybody move to normal packet management. Just spent two minutes and think how you would explain some inexperienced N900 user how to handle the removal of library which is not seen in HAM. If you don't want to do it then somebody else will spend a time in forum trying to explain it. Just because he needs it to fix his problem.

Nice...

IIRC autoremoving works fine as long as you use HAM (blue pill) for installing your stuff. If you left the safe path, and installed via red pill or dpkg, then you ought to be experienced enough to clean up your system again. If not, then don't even think about red pill mode.

Could it be because i dont have any new apps other the one that was preinstall already when i bought it??
I can't eighter see new icons after update on App manager, only All, Desktop and Office are visible.

Addition: Seems that App.manager shows only icons for those catalogues that are not installed as after installing DocsToGo office icon disappeared.

Installed the update. Phone seems snappier. Application manager is faster.

You live in virtual reality. Just 2 posts from adjacent forum thread, it is about MMS implementation on N900:

> " so good for u Im a begginer here so even dont know how to do that hehe"

> Just like kuriiri said earlier.
> Go to terminal
> sudo gainroot (you need rootsh to get to the root)
> apt-get install python-evolution (will install python evolution)

Do I need to repeat more again and again?

PS. PackageView and WifiInfo can be installed w/out any red pill or dpkg.

Are you running the production firmware or is this a pre-release version? If you're running a pre-production firmware you may need to do a full reflash instead. The SSU repository URL should be https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/203 with the number at the end matching the firmware variant (see Settings -> About product - my Version says 1.2009.44-1.203.4).

Looking at https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6878 says that MR0 is the global variant, so try mr0 instead of 203 at the end of the URL.
