You most likely have the older firmware in your device which came with the devices bought some months ago. That older firmware doesn't support SSU apparently so you have to use cable to install the latest firmware
I'm sceptical that we can't upgrade via the App Manager - wasn't that the whole point of Monday's update? We haven't heard anything from Nokia to that effect.
The UK always seems to be at the arse end of Nokia's release schedule. I'm sure they'll get around to squeezing it out at some point today.

Yeah - Monday's update (which incidentally came through on my app manager fine) is meant to have enabled the app manager to receive the new update. So its just a waiting game really.
Anyone know much about these two different firmwares? One is rx-51 and one is something else...
Just an update from me - London, UK - update has now come through! Its on my lunch break too which is handy. Time to abuse my supposed unlimited internet bundle. This will hurt the fair usage allowance I'm sure!

To the tune of around 90MB, yes
I installed mine a couple of hours ago and all went well (even though a worrying "corrupted file" message popped up at some point.)
Installing now, I'm in Amsterdam The Netherlands
