For those who can't wait the "air" update, download Nokia Software Updater.

It is much more safer since you are not dealing with wifi !

I am located in Canada!

Steps to do :

1. Download the Nokia Software Updater from here : http://europe.nokia.com/support/down...oftware-update

2. Select language

3. Install the software

4. Plug in your N900 and from your phone select Pc suite ( Not mass storage ) BEFORE running the updater

5. Open the Nokia Software Updater and follow the instructions

Voila! Simple as that ! Good luck!

for completeness' sake:
updating via NSU will NOT retain your settings! NSU is the same as a reflash!

if you update OTA, your settings will be kept.

No this is NOT working!

My NSU update has been on "Estimated time left: 1 second" for half an hour.

THERE IS SOME KIND OF FATAL BUG! ANY IDEA WHAT TO DO? CAN'T CALL ANYONE

...worked perfect for me. So the "fatal bug" seems to depend of your environnement/settings.

Is the screen back on your N900 or black?

I had that hang issue last time I flashed. A couple of weeks back. I had a train to catch, had to unplug and the phone was dead. (Ironically I reflashed because of a battery drain making the phone problematic when travelling.)

I ended up forcing a reboot (a couple of times) and it eventually worked -- though it went into the boot screen and shut down several times first. (Not that that helps you much.)

No - still 1 second left. N900 screen is like it was (white backgroud whit Nokia logo and green process bar on bottom of the screen.

Just had the same thing, so I decided to use the flasher instead: http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_f..._.2F_Windows_7

Took 1 minute to flash with the flasher.

Sure! How do I do that given that I don't have *any* Microsoft product???

Nonsense: download first the packages if you don't want to deal with wifi. Then turn it off and update.

PS: I do know about the flasher option for linux(still, not the same )

Experienced the same problem.... I just took the battery off and everything is as before... I think the best way would be to do it OTA....
