Couple of things I figure everyone should be aware of using your browser in portrait mode:

1) If you do ctrl-shift-o and then close your keyboard and rotate the phone 90 degrees to the right, it should go into portrait mode.

BUT, if it does not, a little trick I did can fix it. Call your phone. This will force it into portrait mode. End the call. Go back to your browser. Try the ctrl-shift-o trick again and then rotate. It should work.

2) If you are on a webpage that pops up a new page and you're in portrait mode and rotate back to horizontal mode (landscape), you might get stuck and be unable to get the minimize arrow back or a close button. In this case, just press the power button once and then choose End Current Task.

I've gotta say....after all the clamoring and wailing over getting this portrait browsing feature implemented - I don't know what the fuss was about.

I tried it out, thought it stank, and I'll likely never use it again. That's not a reflection on the programmer(s) that implemented it btw - they did a great job - but just the feature itself as a concept.

Web pages look awful when rendered in portrait. The landscape dimensions are much better suited.

Of course, this is partly a personal taste issue, and also a "crappy web design" issue....if people made sites that were considerate of mobile devices I'd probably like the feature more.
