Remove applets from status-menu, but keep in status-area?

Hi! I rarely use bluetooth, and I prefer o change profile with the power-button. So I got rid of the bluetooth and profile-applets in the hildon-status-menu config-files.
This works, but now when I want to get rid of the battery- and clock-applets in the menu they also disappear in the status-area, where I need them.
Does anyone know of a solution?

I found that if I use Powatool to disable the Battery applet it will stay in the status area, but will disappear from the menu. That is until the next reboot, then it will be gone from the status area as well. But enabling and disabling it will again get the desired state. Would be nice if there was a "real" solution, though.
