Hi one and all, I thought as there seems to be a large amount threads that seem to be a little negitive but informative, I thought I would just like to say since owning the N900 sine November last year, I have yet to have any problems with my device and all updates have gone smoothly.
I like the smooth flip to portrait mode with Ctrl - shift - o but doubt that I will be using it that much.
I use my device all the time and imho at the moment it is the current leader of the pack for what my needs are. phone useage is heavy for me aswell as listeniing to music, surfing the web, watching films and games.
I would just like to say to people that are looking at this forum and thinking about this device that yes there are a few who seem to be having a few problems but I would say the majority are not and do not let this put you off this device because it is great. Its a shame that there does not seem to be a larger volume of positive feed back.
Portrait mode in browser proved to be nice for browsing OVI store. It may be nice for using the iPhone-optimized version of GMail, too (but how to write text in portrait mode...?).
Couldn't agree more - especially since the latest firmware upgrade.....this is now a Fantastic device which I am very happy with & already dependent on. It just feels right, and MINE ! And not {insert global brand here}....
Thank you Peter, Nokia, Maemo.org & all the guys who have worked on the upgrades to raise this device from a good innovative product to a Great tabphone.
I've lived it for nearly 2 months now, & can live with it's peculiarities...nothing's perfect, but these enhancements have re-affirmed my hopes that this product will only get better & better.
I'm very chuffed with my machine. Coming from a WinXX background, this is my first real experience of the open source community in action & I have to say I'm mighty encouraged for the future.
