I'm afraid that only a reflash of the device with the old image will remove the firmware update (losing your installed applications at the same time).

But why would you remove it?

See also http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40753 - downgrading the firmware is really not an option.

besides, If I got (remember) it right then you will also loose the SIM card. The SIM card firmware also got updated and that will not be compatable with the old maemo firmware.

Maybe he's experiencing lots of problems with it.. Like the battery drain bug... etc? Try reflashing the software, but I would reflash it with the PR1.1 maybe it will solve the problem?? Because I have PR1.1 and I have only noticed some very very small bugs that doesn't even matter.. but other than that.. nothing major or annoying.

Battery on the other hand.. I feel that it's actually better now..

The battery life is greatly reduced and the phone runs hot even switched off...

After some testing I realized it is the IM that is causing it... If I disconnect from all the IM networks, battery life is fine and phone runs cool but once I start the connectivity to skype or haze etc, the phone runs hot and battery life drops dramatically.

@GeneralAntilles, why can't I flash the device with old firmware? I have an unlocked phone so I don't think the issue with SIM chip would impact me...
