Doing this caused a few other widgets to disappear.
Not a big dealto put them back.

I have the same issue. Is there any update on this ? I have to remove and add the widget after every reboot and not to mention, removing media player widget removes couple of other shortcuts as well that I have to put back again. Its not difficult to do but it is just annoying.

I'm writing this because I saw some posts having problem with media player widget's play button in the desktop.
I dont exactly remember if I had any issue with media player widget's play button in the desktop but I noticed it after the firmware update and thought it was a bug but after I deleted the widget from the desktop in edit mode and clicking done and againg adding the widget back solved the problem for me. Now anytime I hit play button plays the song for me. Hope it helps.
