I have one problem with new fMms. "To" button works great but it doesn't show all phones for contacts.
What number field are you missing? Ie whats the label for it in "Contacts"?
Since the python-abook bindings are MIA I did a quick hack getting some of the fields from vcard manually and thought I got all relevant ones, guess I didn't
@chrget: Good point, didn't even think of that - guess I'm spoiled after my carrier letting me MMS a 5mpix picture while I was testing
and i have only one apn that is my internet connection setting from my provider ( i do not want to edit this connection because i am using it for internet)
Many network providers, on seeing their SIM in a new phone, send a special SMS containing settings for that network. For example, 3 UK does this. Some networks will send the special SMS when you ask an operator to do it, or when you first text a number to trigger it.
It looks like the N900 can process the special SMS, because when I put my 3 SIM in and booted, the GPRS settings were correct already, but then I receieved two regular texts from 3 telling me they were about to send me settings, and shortly after, I heard an alert tone with a message on-screen saying the new settings did not need to be applied because they had not changed.
Anyways, the point is they send full MMS settings as well as GPRS settings in the same special SMS.
It would be really worthwhile figuring out how to use the MMS settings that have been sent. Perhaps the N900 stores them when it updates the GPRS, even though it doesn't use the MMS settings natively yet? If not, perhaps that can be changed?
Note that it isn't possible to work out the MMS settings just from the SIM info on all networks, but the special SMS should always work, if they send it. Not all networks do send it, though.
Did you connect manually to the APN? If not, that's why, if you did, settings are most likely wrong I'm afraid.
Basically, when you get any connection related error it's almost 100% something wrong with the settings - check, double check, check the wiki, check your operators site for settings
Hi Frals,
I called my provider and they confirmed my all numbers/names to fill in in all . I tried to use http proxy and also to leave empty. I connect manually to APN and I get an IP number as well so I`m online. Don`t know how to proceed...
Ok i download and install this program since firmware is not going to support it. Here are a couple problems:
1. Receiving pictures sent from PC are not resize properly. (I never received the original picture size that was intended to be). I send a couple of 3.52mb picture with size of 2576x1448. And the fmms reduce the size to 89x119pixels and 84kb. Now i am not using phone to phone here yet....this is from Yahoo mail or Outlook 2007 to phone. I have no doubt these programs did not reduce the image size as i tested with a different phone with mms and it was able to get full size image.
2. Sending image with fmms does show up as full size image depending on the resize setting. However, if i send it to Outlook, it does not show up as attachment....rather it displays the picture on the text field.
My question is is there is a default image size option?? In other words, I don't want to resize any of the image..i want it to be the way whatever the image is supposed to be and just send it!! Same go with receiving images...size should be set as default.
Suggestion: Is it possible to implement a sending/receiving progress bar? So one can see when it is done Also, is it possible for fmms to switch to Tmobile mms connection automatically when fmms is being opened and switch back to wi-fi when it's off?
There is a crash when trying to send image a 2nd time.
This program is a good substitute for mms especially if all the bugs straighten out.
