see the connection settings in the Settings

You can set a default connection over there

There's "Internet connections" -button in settings, click that and you'll find connection settings for automatic connection / preferred connection. Just set automatic connection to wlan and tick the box saying something like "Change to WLAN when available".

To set your connection off select "Always ask" in the setting and when you want to disconnect, click the clock-area in the upperpart of the screen (with the battery symbol etc.) and press the button "Internet connection" and select disconnect.

Why do you need Fring / Nimbuzz on N900? Most of their features N900 covers out of the box, or with a suitable plugin.

Are nimbuzz / fring chat protocols open? If they are, somebody probably made their implementation for Pidgin, and they possibly exist for telepathy as well.

If those protocols are c.losed, urge your friends to use some broadely available protocol instead of internal protocols of closed source apps.

@zwer they arent open couse Fring and Nimbuzz are Apps like pidgin you can connect to skype, icq , gtalk etc with them. The Point is, that they also have own Chat Protocols and for example the new gen of these 2 Progs for the iphone allow push notifications. Also Nimbuzz is very often used by Nokia Symbian Users. So if Nimbuzz will be aviable it has to come over the Nokia OVI. For Example Fring seems to be planned:

But is there a Pidgin plugin for the Conversation Widget so i could also have it like push?

I know more than enough about both of them, but I fail to understand what exactly are you asking - if those protocols are open, chances are that they already exist for pidgin, and thus can be converted to work with telepathy. If they are closed, just ask your friends to chat/talk with you via some other protocol such as skype, gtalk or msn - they already have support for those, and N900 supports them out of box (well, you need gaze or some other plugin pack for MSN) so you won't be missing much from the lack of Fring / Nimbuzz on N900.

Even if they were available, I can't think of a reason why would anyone use them over the fabulous Conversations approach...

    Hi zwer,

after playing a little around with the telepathy and the conversation feature i need to agree we wont need nimbuzz or fring. It was my fault i thought it just allows to use skype as chat.

for ppls with the same problem to talk with a buddy that uses a iphone yahoo msgr now allows push on iphone too so both worlds are happy i guess.

    thx for wake up zwer.

    best regards Crown
