Icons are not being displayed until reboot

After PR1.01, icons for new programs are not being displayed until a reboot.

I realize gtk-update-icon-cache no longer exists, but it seems hildon-desktop is dependent on some form of icon cache to display icons.

Example: I can install 4 applications and all 4 applications will show blue boxes for icons. A reboot will cause all 4 icons to properly display.

Is there something I'm missing? I don't see any other threads about this.

    update to PR1.1 might help?!

and maybe you're not seeing any other threads with this problem because most of the users already updated their system and it's gone in the new firmware?! ^^

PR 1.1 here and i am seeing the same issue.
It is not happening for every single installation, just very often say 3 of the 5 installations had icons which showed up only when i rebooted the phone.

mhm... some apps maybe not update the icon-cache... or it's only updated every x installed apps?!

but here's how to do it manually:
    Code:
    gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/hicolor

I just installed conky right now and it installed and no shows a blue box in place of an icon.

Tried the above command as user and root both and it has no effect.

I do recall seeing "updating icon cache" coming after i installed the application but no icons yet.

Yes, thats something thats been removed as a space saver. But then what is used for updating the icons now?
And why isnt it working when we install an app.
