Supposedly, Nokia should be providing the UAProf file, as with all other Nokia devices. But since Nokia is not officially supporting N900 MMS, we'll have to find another way to host it.

I am looking forward to try this tonight and will test if I can control the image size received from MMSC.

BTW, this is the same approach used by SwirlyMMS (MMS for iPhone).
Cool, I'll have a look at all that tomorrow night (hopefully) as well, seems pretty straight forward to implement Thanks a lot for the information

Yes, this kind of integration is waaaay off atm, but it's something I hope is possible

Ah yes, a side effect of my sloppy number-matching algorithm, it's really ugly and is on my ever-growing todo list (side note: it only matches against "mobile-phone" field and "other-phone"). This should be fixed at some point ;-)

Most deffo your carrier being lazy (or the senders), as soon as the SMS PUSH Notification is showed the device has been notified and you can fetch the message

    Yes, deffo adding this soon(tm)

Thanks for testing and the well structured feedback! :-)

EDIT: Seems I managed to forget to actually submit 0.2.2 to the builder, it's being processed now
[2010-01-20 01:46:21] fmms 0.2.2-1 has been queued for loading into fremantle extras-devel repository

hey guys. thanx for the good work on fmms. i have been having trouble making this work.
after many hours of reading and learning how to configure.
i have got a new error msg when im sending my first mms.
    this is latest fmms 0.2.2.

Error: -3 temporarly failure in name resolution. please make sure your apn setting are correct.

    anyone know what this means?

i have also connected to my mms apn before sending.

    thanx.

note also in my connection setting i have tixed proxy . and inserted ip + port 9201. and i have also ticked the lower. option use web adresse. http://mms.telenor.dk.
i have also tried without this webadress tick only ip and port. still same error.

what it normally means is that there was a problem translating a web resource to its IP address.

If your proxy is a dotted ip like 66.209.11.32 instead of wireless.cingular.com, then the problem must be your mmsc setting (if mmsc is a domain name instead of an ip address).

If both proxy and mmsc are ip addresses, then there is no need to resolve it, hence you wouldn't see this problem.

Of course, you also can't rule out the possibility that the proxy server may be faulty.

This might be due to fMMS not properly formatting the SMIL part of the message - what phones have you tried sending to? Do you see the image if you send to yourself?

I was thinking to your own N900, but ok, I assume everyone who you sent to got a Blackberry as well? Most other phones does handle the invalid SMIL, except for Blackberries...

It's a bug in fMMS and it's on the todo list

    Thanks for reporting
