I don't remember seeing an announcement from Nokia saying they are not supporting MMS on the N900 themselves until just now -- someone correct me if I am wrong. This would have been helpful information for some users contemplating their purchase. It makes us particularly thankful to the developer and to the users in this thread, who were also essential in this step forward.

I'd suggest the other way - find one that says they will? - people have said it, but never seen an official one.

If they are supporting Frals, then there should be no reason to have any concern (Hoping Frals will let us know how he feels - and hopefully enjoys a free holiday/work trip )

I'd be stupid not to go, and of course it feels great to receive this kind of support (both from the community and Maemo).

Attached is patch that sets x-wap-profile header when retrieving MMS. I am still not able to downscale incoming image but it could be that my provider is caching and ignoring UAProf (?)

    Great, thanks!

Seems my carrier just ignores it as well - on the other hand I've registred a few hits on n900.rdf during the day from some IP's that does look like MMS GW's actually fetching the file (unless it's people downloading it manually without a user-agent set) - among others PlusGSM, vodafone and some finnish carrier I can't rememer the name of. I'll get a release together tonight and crossing fingers it works

    Hey All,

Been using fMMS and its working great - except as mentioned by three others in this thread the image does not appear to be attached when I MMS a blackberry (it works fine when I messaged an iPhone). Are there any solutions for this as of yet?

    ~Jeff

Sorry no work around yet, going to go through the SMIL generation at some point (which should be what is causing this, I *think*)

I am very surprised to hear that cause everything I've read said that Nokia would be releasing an update with MMS. This was one of the reasons I brought the phone. Surely MMS is such a key aspect of the texting culture - it's like releasing a phone that can't send SMS!

That said the work Frals has been doing for this is really great and I'm pleased that Nokia are supporting him with it.

Looking forward to the time it is more integrated in the the phone, but I'm sure thats many many hours away.
